Be Adventurous

To participate in the sport of rock climbing, you don't have to be a super athlete. It is more a sport of technique, grace, and balance rather than one of strength. Many people begin climbing later in life and there are excellent climbers of all ages. Rock climbing is mostly about balance and knowing your body, and how to reposition it in space. You have to be creative when you are rock climbing because you have to adapt to what the rock you are climbing has to offer you. Your legs and feet are your most important tools for getting you up, though your upper body gets a fairly good work out as well.

Great quality routes

Rock climbing is a sport in which participants climb up, down or across natural rock formations or artificial rock walls. The goal is to reach the summit of a formation or the endpoint of a usually pre-defined route without falling. Rock climbing is a physically and mentally demanding sport, one that often tests. For many people it is about exploring the natural world around you and finding the strength and perseverance buried deep inside of you.

How do you get started in the sport of rock climbing? Well the rock climbing club RANQ is an excellent place to start! We host regular rock climbing and bouldering trip around Townsville, North Queensland, Australia.
